    This reader contains both the Plato and Russell sources used in the post. It’s quite expensive and hefty, but if you like philosophy of religion then it’s worth every penny!


  • Gorgias- Spin Doctor

    Readings in Ancient Greek Philosophy from Thales to Aristotle. This is an excellent reader full of classics from the ancient Greek world. This one is notable because it contains many readings in the presocratics. Hackett, the publisher, makes wonderful books and their translations are imminently readable.

  • William James- You Can't Handle The Truth!

    Pragmatism. This isn't a book per-se, it's actually the transcripts of a series of lectures given by James. This is a fascinating work that covers far more than just the pragmatic theory of truth. This collection is a fantastic introduction to pragmatism by one of its best advocates.
